The world is full of beauty, the kind we wish we could hold or stare at forever. But as beauty comes in many forms, there are beautiful things we have to let slip after looking at them or experiencing them for a while. Trips with friends, annual gatherings with the family, or places we visited—we wish we could live in these moments for life, but we can’t. As cruel as it sounds, it’s true, some of life’s most beautiful parts are only temporary.
Maybe this is what makes photography a form of magic in its own right. It freezes the moment we want to remember till we perish, allowing us to go back to that same minute or second anytime we want. As American-Swiss photographer Robert Frank once said, “There is one thing the photograph must contain—the humanity of the moment.”
People turn to taking photos when they want to capture a memory they want to keep forever. Undeniably a very important form of science and art, photography has evolved since its invention in the early 1800s. We’ve gone from using the tedious process that is heliography to simply pulling out DSLR cameras and clicking on the shutter button.
Fast forward to the 2010s, in our want to take photos from an angle impossible for man to reach, we launch unmanned vehicles to do the job for us. Aerial photography is what it is called. For some reason, a photo taken from miles above the ground is more fascinating and offers a view always a sight to marvel at.
Drone photos never fail to leave us in awe. In celebration of this form of photography that helped us see beauty in a new angle, here are the most stunning pictures taken by drones.
