The announcement was accompanied by a cryptic description, which says, “Unleash Your Other Side.” To find out more, we will have to wait until May 15, when the company will make the official announcement at 9:15 am EST. The lack of hype around the event almost certainly means it won’t be a new DJI drone.
New DJI Product Launches Tomorrow: What Could It Be?
The “Unleash Your Other Side” campaign features a bikini-clad woman suspended underwater. There is a reflection of the diver in the ocean floor, although that seems to be another water surface instead of a real ocean floor. The image tempted many to think that the new product has something to do with water. Might it be used in the water? Will it be waterproof? Other than the reference to water and the slogan “Unleash Your Other Side,” there are really no further clues in DJI’s message.

This of course led to most sources believing that this new product will feature a waterproof camera. So it doesn’t look as though a Phantom 5 is on the cards. The imagery also seems to suggest a product that’s waterproof, not just a camera that can fly in the rain. There are two possible products that fit with DJI’s “Unleash Your Other Side” teaser and the free diver imagery. The first is an underwater drone, which would be a marked departure from what the Chinese manufacturer has attempted up until this point.
DJI Osmo Action
As the leaks pour in, it seems to be confirmed among others that the event will be highlighting the new DJI Osmo Action, a GoPro Hero style action camera. While we can’t confirm that the DJI Osmo Action camera will be the main event on May 15th, there are plenty of sources out there that are pushing this idea. Many believe that the success of the Osmo Pocket will drive DJI to continue to push into this market.
